Zechariah 7:9-10

DaySpring Daily Word of Inspiration: Zechariah 7:9-10 – “This is what the Lord Almighty said: ‘Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the foreigner or the poor. Do not plot evil against each other.’

How do you treat other people? Do people say that you’re a nice person? Would someone call you an honorable person? Do people know that you are truly a forgiving person? Can you be wronged and not take retaliation on your offender?

Hopefully this is you! As Christians, God gives us a command to be upright in these various areas of our lives and it is our job to uphold and live out these truths so that our love for people is evident and that our obedience to God is real. Can anyone see God as the one we should get to know if you’re the ambassador who is seen as an enemy speaking on God’s behalf? What declaration of peace are your actions to the world suggesting about your king and ruler?

We can make persuading someone to give God a chance a hard thing to do by our daily conduct. Those who haven’t accepted the love, mercy and sacrifice of Jesus Christ will never do so if you’re behaving as vengeful bullies. Have you ever noticed that dictators never have the love or admiration of their people? There is more fear and resentment for their ruler than anything else. They plot uprisings and devise plans to ultimately tear down the regime. When Jesus lives through you, you’re a direct representation of how God wants you to treat his people. If you’re claiming to be a follower/messenger of God but don’t showcase any of his attributes, who is going to believe that you’re from the King?

Our continuing task as Christians is to live lives that are in contrary to what the world knows as normal or natural. When we are trained in the word of God, we learn how to show compassion, mercy, and “turn the other cheek” as Jesus did…..not how we’ve learned to do by our parents, friends and experiences.

Our God is a god of love! Our obedience to his word is our act of worship which validates our claims to the world we are changed by faith in Jesus Christ. His bloodshed, crucifixion, death, burial and resurrection make us new; and in accordance with this truth, in faith we should be new in every aspect of our lives…….not perfect, but being perfected!

As we go into this weekend, today is Good Friday and Sunday we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We talked about how we treat other people today, but put this on your brain: How do you treat other Christians?

Let us unite as one, under one God with the knowledge of one truth and that is Jesus is the way, the truth and the light.

If you’re wondering about this Jesus fellow and what’s all the hype about this Sunday, I encourage you to check out DaySpring Christian Center or your local church that teaches Jesus and get informed.  DaySpring is located at 16115 S. Denker Ave, Gardena 90247. We look forward to you coming to worship with us and hearing God’s word move you from your natural mindset to a supernatural.

He made a great sacrifice for you and me. The benefit of that sacrifice is for all of those who would just genuinely believe in him and what he accomplished on the cross for us all. Actions speak louder than words; let your actions show forth you’re belief and obedience to the one true God of heaven and earth today and forevermore. In Jesus name, AMEN!
