Romans 1:16

DaySpring Daily Word of Inspiration:  Romans 1:16 – For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

There is a simple truth in the world that we are all connected to. Whether you believe it or not, there is something inside each and every one of us; a void that links us to what some would consider a “higher power”. It’s always empty, needing to be filled with something. The desire pulls and tugs at us individually daily and we either resist it or we embrace it. Today, for those who embrace the fact that there is someone of a higher power, there is someone with supreme authority, there is someone who holds the keys of life in their hands – I say to you, are proud of that? Does the knowledge of this truth drive you? Does it compel you to be different? Does it compel you to reach, teach, and bring that information to others? Have you experienced the power in this truth?

God is the ultimate power of this universe. No other book in the existence of mankind has been more correct, supplied direction on life for any time in history (even in our times today) and been so accurate, nor has given a definitive answer for the sins of men and provided the promise along with it! THERE IS NO OTHER BOOK THAT HAS NOR CAN DO IT! How does that make you feel? That’s a pretty powerful statement. I know personally it makes me feel a little insignificant and miniscule in the grand scheme of life. There is one so much greater, more powerful and perfect than I could ever be. Maybe submission is way better than destruction…. Nevertheless, we have an opportunity to share in this same power! The same power that is over all, his also in everything he has done and spoke! The bible is the very breathe of God. There is power in every word that is spoken. This is why we feel convicted when we read it! Why does it seem like it knows everything about us, our circumstance, our hurts, fears, and the like? Simply because it was given to us by the one who knows everything and everything about you and I. How can you be ashamed to spread that power to others?

This very power is the author of change, restoration, providence, and salvation! How can someone change their bad habits (of sin)? By the power of the convicting word of God! How can we learn how to treat our husbands and wives? By the power in God’s word. How do we know how to treat people? By the power of God’s word. How do we know how to act to draw people closer to God? By the power in God’s word. How do we know how to live this life without suffering the whole way through? It is by the power of the gospel; God’s word! I could go on and on, but I’m sure you get the point.

This same word (gospel) has the power to save not just lives, but SOULS!!! The direct line to follow in being able to experience the promises of God through salvation is in his gospel! How can we as Christians be ashamed to present this power to others or cheat anyone out of the grace and mercy that was given to us by God through the blood of his Son? It is our duty to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to see, experience, and believe in the power of God’s word so that they too may have the assurance of His salvation! However, this cannot happen if we’re afraid to unleash to power in which God has entrusted you to use on his behalf! Remember we are his ambassadors; sent in his power and authority (by His gospel/word) to do his will! Are you ashamed to do your duty for the King????

Today we pray that we can get over any fears, inadequacies, or insecurities so that the proclaiming of God’s power word, which changes lives unto salvation, may be brought to everyone in your sphere of influence because God has purposed this work for us to do!  Will you allow God’s power to be evident through you or are you ashamed that you have been saved? How could you be and more importantly, don’t you want others you love (and don’t love) to be saved too? As you’re knowledge, wisdom, and confidence in Christ increases, we pray that you do. In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
