Psalm 71:8

DaySpring Daily Word of Inspiration: Psalm 71:8 – My mouth is filled with your praise, declaring your splendor all day long.

Look around you. Take a moment to really concentrate on all that is around you. We understand the beauty in all of the architecture and other things of this world, but where did the “know-how” to make it all come to form stem from? Check out the endless sky and position of the sun. Take in the breeze of the wind passing by you. There is something so much bigger than us in control; have you declared who that is? Have you recognized and declared God’s greatness? It’s an easy thing to overlook the magnificence of God’s creation and to take it for granted as if this is how it was supposed to be…. Or even this is the way it will always be. The one who created you and me, is far able to create much more than this, if he can create something out of nothing. What is our response to God’s greatness and power?

Let’s begin right where we left off from Friday. This will be crucial in having your heart truly be flooded with a desire and yearning to experience God in a different way. Exalt and praise God for every splendor that we enjoy today. God is a wonderful God. As we start our week off with this mindset before us, we pray that it puts us on the right path of genuinely connecting with what God has for us throughout this week. The underlying meaning of it all being that in everything God does for us, in everything God has given us, and in everything God is preparing us for, it is an opportunity for us to give him thanks and praise. God doesn’t have to keep doing it all for us but as we get ready to look deeper into God’s love for his creation (us), we can’t help but be overwhelmed with a response of praising him because we of what he should have done to us (and didn’t) – for all we keep on doing wrong in his sight. Have you done anything questionable that God should destroy you for in being less than perfect, but he hasn’t yet? That alone is a huge reason to rejoice! Can you say multiple chances? What is your mouth filled with today as you think about that fact? Let every mouth be filled with praise today in reverence of our Father God and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Meditate on this scripture and allow the words of this devotional to touch you at your core. We want you to pray that God continues to reveal his majesty and love to and for you. Pray you begin to see why His praise should be on your lips and in your mouth. We pray that the realness of God’s existence and the understanding of his word bring about a desire for change in your daily life and a new found purpose in how you conduct life from this moment on. God is calling you to stand for the sake of his name and his son Jesus Christ. Do you truly understand why you should stand? If not, on this day, may the impact of God’s truth fall on our hearts like a ton of bricks making us wail out in praise and worship of his unfathomable goodness to us! In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
