Psalm 68:4-5

DaySpring Daily Word of Inspiration: Psalm 68:4-5 – Sing to God, sing in praise of his name, extol him who rides on the clouds; rejoice before him-his name is the Lord. A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.

I love music! I honestly believe it is one of the universal life-bloods that courses through people of every nationality and has no prejudice. It is amazing to say the least. I, myself am an avid listener and advocate for the musical arts. I love the way it compels, completes and invokes us. I don’t know what I’d personally do in this life if music weren’t a freely expressed art for all to enjoy.

One of the great things about music is how it makes you feel. When we sing it, we get inspired. When we connect with it, we can get emotional. When we concentrate on it, our eyes are opened to the sure fact that we’re not alone – someone somewhere can relate to our own situations. In turn, that produces a gratitude and bond that isn’t easily severed.

When you think about how good God has been to you and in your life, what song does that make you sing in your heart? What feeling does that produce in you that others can share in and embrace? What can’t you contain when you concentrate on all of his goodness? When we’re grateful for the passionate words a songwriter puts on paper because it has changed our life, what should we feel when we look at those passionate words that God has put on paper to better our lives? How much more of a feeling of gratitude and connection should we feel when our Father in heaven “bleeds” on the track of our lives for the hope of mankind? I submit to you today, the songs that should go out to God in thanks and overflowing recognition of his love should be more powerful than anything any songwriter has written or ever will.

When we connect and embrace the words of God, we should be compelled to sing a song of praise unlike any other. When we concentrate on what he is inspiring in us, we should be overwhelmed with thanks. When we see God’s heart for us and without just cause, we should get emotional and sing out to God how much his words have changed our lives.

If there was ever a reason to enjoy singing or being immersed in the music, when we examine God’s word, we get reason to shout! One of the greatest love stories ever told is the soundtrack to a life of harmony and your happily ever after. Sing a song to God in recognition of that fact because what he’s provided is so beautiful – it is truly music to our ears!!

Today we want you to think about if there is something in your life to sing about. Is there any reason why you might want to give God praise because of the words he’s spoken? Are his words sweet music to your ears that you want to sing loud and get emotional about? Praise God for his soundtrack and sing along with the music. Let’s see what that singing will produce in your life in emotion, gratitude and change. Sing your song to God today and let it change your life for tomorrow. In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
