DaySpring Daily Word of Inspiration: Psalm 68:19 – Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens.
What have you burdened God with today? I know it’s early but we all have something that we haven’t overcome which plagues our lives and continually expresses how dirty, filthy and unworthy we are to have such a loving, compassionate and faithful God. How grateful are we today that God didn’t turn his back on us in our sinful state? Does it make you think about where you could be in this life without Christ’s teachings? Does it make you want to cry in disbelief that you are so loved by God that he wanted to save you – even though you (& I) keep on sinning? Do you kick him a couple of amen’s on a Sunday and think you’ve repaid him for his goodness? Do you shout his glory to all so they know how great a god he is? Tell me, what do you give to a person who put himself in harm’s way just to save your life? Honestly answer that to yourself right now……..Now that you have your answer, tell me what do you give to that same person if they saved your life every single day of your existence?
When we put things into practical terms, we must admit that God is something amazingly incredible to us! If there is no ounce of jubilance in your soul for that fact as a Christian, then you may not know the same God that I’m speaking of! God does deserve all praise, uplifting, honor and blessings from us as we can give. Not only does he provide a way out of our sins forever, he allows us to also be alleviated of the burdens, cares, anxieties, stress and heartaches of this world and be put on him to should so that we can have peace if we truly trust in him! Why God? Why do we deserve such a great treatment and attention from you? The truth is WE DON’T! We don’t deserve the mercy and grace that God bestows upon us – ever more the reason that he should be exalted in our lives above any and everything else.
Today I want to be brief but direct. If you are considered a child of God and you say that you adore the Savior of our souls, make the joy of your heart heard today in obedience and reverence of our Lord Jesus Christ. Give him the honor he deserves in your life by upholding his teachings. Give him the praise of your lips by speaking about him and speaking well of him to all you can. God takes a lot on a daily basis from me alone in dealing with my horrible mindset and divided heart but he hasn’t given up on me and still shines on my desire and efforts to be like his son Jesus! What do you put him through in your daily life? We already treated him unspeakably when he first came to save us, do we dare continue in that same regard after realizing the truth about him and who he is? I pray not!!!!
Search your heart today; see if there isn’t something in you that should deserve punishment from God. Has he destroyed you for that yet or has his mercy, grace, patience and love still allowed you to be here on Earth even today? Now consider how many times you’ve done that ONE thing this past week? Now this past year? Now, how many more things could he have destroyed us for?
I praise you Father! In the sight and ear shot of all men, I lift up the name of Jesus and thank you with praise from my lips and my body. Thank you for now treating me as I deserve. Thank you for bearing my burdens daily that I haven’t overcome yet. As long as I live, I will advocate and bless the name of Christ and our Father God. May I consider your goodness every time I think about how you spared me. May my life, body, soul and spirit proclaim you until no more breathe is in this body! Bless your holy name, for I am humbled by your love for me. I do not deserve it but I praise you for gracing me with it and I will forever be mindful to exalt you in the highest. In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
