Psalm 63:3

DaySpring Daily Word of Inspiration:  Psalm 63:3 – Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.

Today we look at a simple idea and try to make it most practical in our lives from now on. Most people would agree that there are few things (if anything) in this life that is better than life itself. So why do we put so much energy into things that aren’t worth us exhausting, limiting, or forfeiting our lives for? We give our honor to people, places, and things but never stop to consider that the things we lift up most likely have never nor will ever have a hand in our daily lives to compel others in understanding that there is more to life than what we see and experience.

There is one thing that is FAR better than life and we have to be open enough to see its effects and how it continually should shape our hearts. It is God’s love for us! When we consider God’s love for us, life really does seem to pale in comparison. Think about it; and truly consider these items for a moment so that you can get the bigger picture. Which is better: a life of expected struggles or a life of constant disarray? Which is better: the expectancy of something to come or squandering of what you have now? Which is better: a plan of attack to be victorious or an assault without recon and a hope for everyone to make it? Which is better: life eternal or life for 60-80 years? Ok, here’s a tricky one, which is better: Jesus or Satan? In all these things, they are not afforded to us because of anything we could do; they are made available to us because of God’s love for us, period!

God’s love for us would have us prepared in this life for MORE THAN this life! His love truly is better than this life! Wouldn’t that be a reason to worship God and give him praise and honor? The keys to life unfiltered are in his word and as we abide by them, we are able to answer which thing is better for us when it comes to God’s love being shown to us. Even with the question posed of which is better between Jesus and Satan, it’s crucial that we see two very powerful truths in that. 1. God gave us Jesus as a sacrifice because he loves us and 2. Jesus’ obedience to God’s will afforded mankind salvation; what has Satan ever given us but pain, problem, torment, and basically hell on earth! Now if life was supposed to be good, how much better would love be (God’s love) if it produced something so much great than what life could – that being eternity with God and the avoidance of punishment? That should stir up something in each of us to make us be more dedicated to God’s will than to life’s desires.

Today we pray that we aren’t worshipping life and the things it may offer, when God’s love alone generates a greater product for our eternity. That fact alone should help us to glorify, praise, and worship God’s love and nature toward us because without God’s love we really have nothing. Do you have a reason to worship God daily? If you don’t believe so maybe you should consider if you’ve encountered his love for you. I guarantee if you do, it will change your life – which isn’t as beneficial as having God’s love forever. Cherish the right thing; consider his LOVE for YOU! Now, are you ready to get him praise over your life? In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
