Psalm 46:10

DaySpring Daily Word of Inspiration: Psalms 46:10 – He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

In this life we have on earth, it is filled with worry, hustle, and struggle every day. We get caught up with so many things and even get sidetracked on what needs to be done. We work hard to climb the corporate ladder and do beyond our resources to stay within the boundary of our own mystique. Today’s scripture hit me powerfully after I sat back and meditated on it. God seemingly is letting us in on a little secret….. come closer….shhhhhhhh

Be Still…….

These two words together are so encouraging and commanding. Let’s see if you can hear me on this one. In the turmoil of a regular day we get tricked into thinking that if we don’t have a certain thing or look a certain way, we are not important nor matter. This in turn makes us become self-reliant and focused on trying to lift ourselves to higher places on our own strength and merit. This scripture puts everything in the right perspective. “BE STILL”. It is a transition into confidence and security. When we are “still” we can see God working in everything in our lives…..whether in good situations or seemingly bad ones, God is always in control!!!! There is no worry for you know that God is God, He’s in control, and you can rest assured that as you witness Him working; you’ll naturally give Him praise and exalt Him for all to see! This mind set helps to fend off the desires for more of the material and esteem among the world. It alleviates the worries that plague us and the disappointments that scar us and replaces it with the confidence that you will have everything you need and more because God is in control and there is no need to worry.

If you can recognize God’s hand working in your life, you will be able to approve for yourself and others that God is God! God is exalted when people can look at your life and know you’re going through it, but see your peace (that you are “being still”) because of your confidence in God; that he can still provide even in spite of. Our reliance on God in ALL circumstances helps to build our story which will bring God glory and shine a light on his grace, mercy and blessings in our lives.

Question #1: Are you letting life dictate your future or are you being still and confident that God can take care of it? If you do the latter of the two, God will be exalted. Question #2: Are you doing your part in making sure God is exalted?  (Hint: The answer for question #2 is in question #1…)

We pray this time has made you reflect and consider putting your energy in exalting God in your life and not being ran by what the world says you should be doing with your life. Be still & know God is God! We hope this word blesses you and moves you into your next level of commitment and confidence in Christ. Have a blessed day and be well. In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
