Proverbs 9:10

DaySpring Daily Word of Inspiration: Proverbs 9:10 – The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

What do you put your trust into? How close are you to truly understanding what your purpose is in this life? What is in you? These questions bring about the thoughts of our situations and puts things into prospective when it comes to seeing what’s really important in this life.

Today’s passage reminds us that these very questions can’t be answered off of our own terms and knowledge… well they could be we’d continue to be striving for more of what the world has to offer. We’d continue to stress ourselves about what we should do? We’d continually always be in want; desiring to fill the voids in our lives with things that have no substance – in the end leaving us right back where we started from, empty.

The truth is that there is a knowledge and wisdom that comes from recognizing God and putting him first in our lives. It is revealed through the scriptures and made practical by implementing those principles into our lives. It says that we are smart enough to at least listen to God when he calls and do what his word says, but then as we begin to live by what we’ve heard, we start to understand His nature, His love, His authority and who we really are.

Do you want the wisdom and understanding that helps you to be in line with God’s will? For in His will, we are being perfected and prepared to live with Him forever in heaven.

None of us put our trust into someone we don’t trust to be wiser than us. We don’t go around bragging about what where here on Earth to do. These things don’t happen until you get a faithful, healthy and uncompromised view of God. As we mature in knowledge of His gospel, we are opened up to understanding who and what we really are and why we need such a merciful God. Once we’ve encountered truth, we can then make the decision to move forward in fear of knowledge or utter resistance of that knowledge.  Fear produces the want for a Savior and desire to take up the calling because you understand how gracious God has been. Lack of fear is just that; you don’t think you done anything wrong so what is there to fear when this live is over.

Trust me, we stand at the gate and this is the reality. Some don’t believe there is a problem, while others know there is a problem. Who will you take you lead from?

Today our prayer is that our desire is to genuinely seek the wisdom of God and truly understand what he is teaching, hoping and has available for us ALL.  God has given us life to live, grow and mature in. We can all agree that life is, in some ways, a test. If that is so, what are you doing to pass the class and have the Good Teacher say, “Well done” to you? Get the wisdom and knowledge that produces life. Our souls depend on it. In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
