Matthew 6:34

DaySpring Daily Word of Inspiration: Matthew 6:34 – Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Do you miss out on the blessings from TODAY because you’re worried about the problems of TOMORROW? Have you been guilty of being overly concerned about the future and what it holds? Today’s scripture helps us to put back into focus the concept of Today.

Jesus tells us to be more concerned about today than we are tomorrow. The old saying is that “none of us are promised tomorrow”, so why are we so worried about it? God has given each of us TODAY to do what is necessary to fulfill his will and be in direct connection with his teachings. When we worry about tomorrow, we are showing a lack of faith that he can’t handle what today has brought on, therefore there’s no way he can handle tomorrow’s problems. That simply isn’t so! This fear isn’t from God but the enemy. Only the enemy wants you to go through this life (seemingly) defended…..every day!

No matter what life throws at us, our focus should be on what we can do for God with the time he has given us…TODAY!

Let’s imagine (since none of us are promised tomorrow anyways….) that TODAY God has a specific mission for your life; something that he needed you to do, something that would please him and show him your faith. Now imagine that God already knew today would be your last day on earth. How would you want to see the Father once you were in his presence? Would you want to be one of the folks that was worried about a day that you were never supposed to see so you didn’t do what God wanted OR do you want to see him smile on your life and say “Well done my good and faithful servant”?

Tomorrow is sure to bring its own set of circumstances; however we don’t have to let those “potential” things ruin what God has for us to do today.

Our prayer today is for us all to let the past be the past, for the future to be left up to God and for our present to be focused on what God needs done through us – TODAY!

We pray this word meets you right where you are but more importantly moves you to do what is on God’s agenda… TODAY. Stay faithful and give God glory through you acts of worship TODAY! In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
