Job 19:25

DaySpring Daily Word of Inspiration: Job 19:25 – I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth.

It’s safe to say that today we live in the age of technology. It’s the information age! We have access to more of the world than ever before and it’s only going to continue to be opened to us. Whatever you want to know about in this life, in this day and age is accessible. If you desire to learn anything, it is within reach and we base a lot of our knowledge off of the things we learn and absorb from all of the information funneling in at us. The media, electronic devices, and internet have taken society to an ever informed height that surpasses the thoughts those of old. We rely on all of this information to shape how we eat, live, communicate, and love or view love. Some of us even swear by the knowledge that we’ve amassed and are confident in those things to be the authority of our lives. With so much information being available and bombarding us, we get overly busy or wrapped up in everything to where we don’t focus on any one particular thing.

One of the tricks of the enemy is to keep us so busy that we get concerned about everything else in the world and never consider the reality about this world. We get caught up worried about getting money to live, getting a higher education, getting the perfect car, getting the perfect job, getting that perfect career, and that perfect life. That’s what the information of this age would have us concentrated on. What happens when it’s a real issue that matters which we need to be concerned about like our souls? Amazingly enough, that’s one of the things that isn’t being pushed or forced into the psyche of our existence. I wonder who wouldn’t want you concerned about that which is surely to come?

As Christian believers we have to remember that what we know of this world is that it will come to an end one day – sooner or later. It is inevitable! We have to know that God is real and his son Jesus Christ will be coming back to this earth to reign for eternity. This information is what is important because it provides our purpose in being actively engaged into that which God has commissioned his people – to seek and save the lost. The world would have you believe that the information it has to offer is what is of vital importance. I submit to you today, there is NOTHING more important than aligning your life with the word of God and living a committed, sacrificial, obedient life of repentance! This is what we are and should be striving to gain in knowledge. This is the information that we should be passing on to the generations to come. This is the information that matters! We can’t continue to be distracted by all the overwhelming information the world is offering and miss the essential point that this life isn’t the end of our existence! We are at the preface of a very, very, very long novel but how do you want your story to go or end for that matter?

Today we want to use the information age to our advantage and you too! Instead of feeding into the frenzy of useless information that the world has to offer, start to inject information to others that has soul implications! If you have a twitter, write something encouraging with a God focus. If you have Facebook, repost this meditation for your friends to see. Whatever your source of media, make it an instrument for God’s usage and purposes. Let’s restore the focus on that which matters and will be the most important information of our entire lives – knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. What we know can help lead someone’s soul to salvation; this is your suitable act of service. KNOW THAT! In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
