Isaiah 53:5-6

DaySpring Daily Word of Inspiration: Isaiah 53:5-6 – But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

What do you really think your life is all about? Does your conscious speak to you regarding the decisions you make? Free Will. Did you know that even freedom comes at a cost? Every decision you make, whether good or bad comes at a price. The ultimate end to it all is, what will your life on earth cost you when it’s all over?

Based on our actions of sin, we have each followed our own ways of how we will live this life. We are free to do any and everything that we want. Even the bible itself says that “everything is permissible, but not everything is beneficial”.

Every time we make a decision to use our freedom for or to sin, we are taking the purchasing power of Jesus’ blood and dismissing it. There are two ways to look at it; you can use the freedom you have in this life to serve your own interests or you can use it to serve God.

The reality is that our freedom will take us down a path of gratitude and understanding or it will lead to the punishment that we all deserve. When we accept Christ’s sacrifice for our sins, we are freed from a life of being enslaved to our natural sins. We are free to go against the grain and live in obedience through faith and response to Jesus setting us free in Him. It is only because of Jesus dying for our sins that the punishment for our sins has been covered. Now, on the flip side if we choose to live life not without accepting Jesus’ sacrifice for our sin, there is still a payment for YOUR sin that has to be made. You may feel that you’re free to do whatever you want to in this life….and yes it is true that you can. The problem is that your freedom now will cost you! All of the sin that you have accumulated for yourself over your life will now have to be punished; paid for by you alone. The difference is the freedom through Jesus, was paid for by Jesus, the freedom we get through free will, we have to pay for.

The good news is that you’re still free at this very moment to accept Jesus’ payment for you sins. Remember, freedom through Jesus brings about peace, forgiveness, confidence, assurance and hope for the future. What has your freedom produced in your life so far?

We pray that you begin to accept the payment that has already been paid for your spiritual freedom before you forfeit your freedom altogether. Have a great and move in the freedom of Christ. In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
