Isaiah 41:10

DaySpring Daily Word of Inspiration: Isaiah 41:10 – “Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

Today marks the ending of a series and the beginning of another. We will be transitioning our daily devotionals over to our church website (dayspringcc.org) and moving into a more interactive series here on Facebook. We will be examining scripture, posing questions regarding the text, and finding God’s answers on how it applies to our lives. As we grow and mature in our knowledge, it is also our responsibility to take greater steps in maturing our faith in Christ. One way we plan to do this is by not only laying out God’s principles for His people but also making sure we understand our duty in transforming our lives to resemble that of dedicated and obedient biblical Christian. We can’t be hypocrites of the faith; as we profess to be, we MUST carry it out – lest we make God look like any other god who has no real power to impact lives! We are disciples of Jesus Christ; we will and are called to present ourselves accordingly. Join us in 2014 in this interactive series so that the seed of the word may move forward and produce what it’s intended to by God’s will. Now for our daily devotional..

In a simple tone, God assures us of His presence but with a stipulation that is important if we plan to move confidently and expectantly in God’s will in 2014. Have you ever noticed that you’re not as afraid when you have people with you as you would be if you were alone? Think about that for a second. We find confidence not only in those who are with us but in their ability too. If we know that those with us are tried and true and would always have our backs, there is a great sense of security in that! Well this example is just talking about human beings – the same entities that could easily let us down. What about the spiritual perfection of our God?

Having God in our corner is not only of a better security but it is the only and most reliable security that we could ever have. Why? Well in God’s security, He’s able to have His own back, have your back, protect you for others assaults, and protect you from yourself! There is no lack when we “roll” with God! With God by our side we are bolder, strengthened, and lifted by His power and presence in our lives.

There is a troubling side to this scripture however. It is unspoken here and I would warn anyone who tries to add anything to the Word of God to NOT DO IT!!! So even in this statement I tell you all clearly, this is my thought that is produced when I truly consider the text. If we are strengthened and lose the feeling of fear and aren’t anxious in trying to figure out things that are going on around us when we have God as our Lord; what does it mean if we are experiencing these very things in our lives? If God isn’t the author of confusion, nor is He the author of fear (2 Tim. 1:7), then who is the lord of those things and who could be the one who is with you?

Today we have to understand that to get to a place where we’re more confident, not fearing, patient, secure, and being built and held up, we have to have the right person on our team! We have to associate ourselves with those who are actively going to supply these attributes in our lives and while they rub off on us, we can instinctively have them rub off on someone else’s life. If your confidence isn’t growing in Christ, that could be a red flag to let you know who you have around you.

We pray that today you begin 2014 with a mindset to only have God as your Father and Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. With them at the helm of your life (in the position of priority), your 2014 and beyond is looking brighter than ever and there’s no fear of what’s next – just the assurance that you’ll be there and God will be with you! Happy New Year’s to all! In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
