Hebrews 13:8

DaySpring Daily Word of Inspiration: Hebrews 13:8 – Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

If you’re like me, we truly can be double minded in our thoughts when concerning Jesus. When we’re experiencing the blessings of God, He is definitely a good God. He knows what he’s doing and we must be doing alright…..but when we’re experiencing the lack of or not getting what we want or desire, God is messing up. He’s not worried about my situation or I must be messing up and he’s not looking out for me. As it stands, you’re not completely right nor are you completely wrong.

The blessings that Jesus has for you and I are always available and the lessons he has for us are also available. God’s position on things regarding the human existence does not change. Think about it. He has promises available for those who do his work and he has lessons that he teaches in the way we should go. These principles are for both the believer and  the disobedient. His consistency is prevalent all over the bible. Jesus specifically said that he came to save and not to judge. Even today, as the message of Christ goes forward, it is the salvation that comes through Christ which results in eternity in heaven with God. His words teach of how to honor God, the promises that are ours when we are surrendered and how to avoid the hardships of life. Jesus even provides the example of what the growth of his characteristics look like in your life when you genuine seek after him….but he also informs us of the pitfalls we encounter when we’re disobedient to his teachings and what that produces in this life and the life to come!

One of the issues we run into when trying to figure out Jesus is fear. When we have fear, we can believe that Jesus is like every other human being we’ve encountered. He is going to let us down at some point. He’s going to throw his hands up when I make another mistake. He’s not going to accept me as I am. On contrary, Jesus lays everything out in the open from the jump and encourages us on the path we should take – either way there is something that is produced by  our action. Not that he’s changed his mind but that he allows us to choose our own fate.

As human as Jesus was, he was still God at the same time. Jesus already knew you were a sinner, that’s why he came to die for your sins. He already knew that others would let you down, that’s why he came to show you what unfailing love looks like. He knew you would have fear of the unknown, that’s why he gave you a promise for your future if you trusted in him.

Jesus doesn’t change, we do! We are the ones who make our minds to do what God’s word says and then go back on OUR word to do what we want or what we’re used to doing. We get tired of doing what’s right in God’s eyes because of our nature. Jesus presents the suggestions and outlines the production our actions whether good or bad. In him there isn’t a grey area or a negotiation for change, the facts are before us all. Which outcome do you want?

Today we want everyone to see Jesus for who he really is. If you’re holding onto a grudge with God because of the choices you’ve made, we are praying for you to let those feelings go and for you to get rooted in the truth that Jesus is our help. Remember, just because we make changes from day to day in accepting his help and truth doesn’t mean he’s the one who is changing. We pray that our eyes are opened to the truth that Jesus is always and forever going to be the same for us and to us….and based on how we treat him, it could dictate how we he responds to us in the end.

Make a decision to be faithful to Jesus. His faithfulness has been promised and is currently being exhibited to you. Don’t YOU change that! In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
