Ephesians 1:13-14

DaySpring Daily Word of Inspiration: Ephesians 1:13-14 – And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession-to the praise of his glory.

There are a couple of realities in this life that we all must come to grips with. It is inevitable that we all will die. It is true that we all will suffer while on this Earth. Every one of us will experience love and we will all experience hurt-whether it be physical, mental, or emotional. Another truth that we overlook or don’t totally take seriously is the truth that there is an after-life. Many people would suggest or have you believe that we become these spirits that float around aimlessly or that we’ll come back as animal or distant relatives. I submit to you today that isn’t the case. The Word of God is clear and consistent with what we can expect in our spirit lives. We can either be prepared for paradise or we can be prepared for judgment. This life is like a bank account; let me see if I can explain:

From the moment you were born, you and I were given something; something we didn’t necessarily want but it was deposited in us anyways. This initial deposit in us was a little thing called sin. As we grow (& grew) older, we invested in our sinful deposit. We found ways to make it bigger and even got lost in how rich we had become in it. As we made continual additions to our account, from time to time, we were informed that we should diversify or get out of that particular sector (the sin business) because it was volatile and leads to destruction. The introduction of an amazing financial soul planner (Jesus) comes into the mix. He shows us all how we’ve made some bad investments and that the foundation we had built on was doomed if we continued on that path. After all of the evidence is presented, we found that we really had made some unwise choices and that our initial deposit was a bad one that we can’t get rid of because by now, we’re already entrenched in the investment. Fortunately, Jesus has a plan! As we were schooled in his plan, we see the benefits and believe that his plan is flawless. Once that takes place, he basically tells us this is what we’re going to do: I’m going to give you a brand new account and make a substantial deposit (the Holy Spirit) into that account. Just as you invested your old account, I want you to invest in this new account. Leave the other account alone!!! I know that it will pay out dividends from time to time but never go back to that account (sin) or use its resources in your life again. I will help you manage it and make sure its funds begin to dwindle from lack of activity on the account. Use only this new account that I’ve given you and continue to mature it, grow it, invest everything you are into it and when the time is right, I will see to it that you reap a return that is eternal.

Thank you Jesus for a better and more beneficial plan! When we accept God’s plan for salvation, we are immediately deposited into with a guarantee that shows forth we are entitled to a glorious inheritance. When we look at reasons we should have God’s praise ever on our lips and in our mouths, we are taken back to his promise of a great return from believing in his soul plan for our lives! An inheritance guaranteed to us for investing in his deposit. If you’re unable to give God praise for that, what is in your account that doesn’t have you optimistic about your future??

We pray today that you understand among the many reasons we praise God daily and continually is the fact that he made his deposit in us. The USofA has the FDIC as insurance for our money placed in banking institutions – which is only limited to a few hundred-thousand dollars of whatever you may have in them. God has Jesus Christ as insurance for our souls being with him in heaven in the next life, with a deposit guarantee of the Holy Spirit – which any we’ve invested in him will be so multiplied back unto us, we can’t fathom what all we get once we cash out! How lucrative is your account today? Spend from your God given account. If you believe in his plan for your soul and invest in it, you will receive an inheritance! That may make it just a bit easier for you to give him praise. In Jesus’ name, AMEN!!!
