1 John 4:12-13

DaySpring Daily Word of Inspiration: 1John 4:12-13 – No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit.

Piggybacking on yesterday’s devotional, we are faced with the reality that God has breathed the breath of life into our bodies but sin has made dormant the reflection of his Spirit’s nature. When we overcome our sinful desires (deny ourselves and take up our cross daily – Matt. 16:24) and embrace the gift of the Holy Spirit, we gain that peace of Spirit which should be relevant in our lives as Christians. There is a reason that Jesus called the Holy Spirit the “comforter”. This comfort is attained by the spirits of God reconnecting in your life! How does that look? Glad you asked! It looks something like this: we have an undeveloped piece of God that gives us life. When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior he gives us the gift of the Holy Spirit. Lastly, once these two entities connect, there should be an automatic manifestation of Jesus Christ, as though he were living, walking and breathing on this Earth!!!

We must remember that the Trinity is God complete! He is three distinct entities working as One; the triune God! This is how his love is made complete in us. It is by God working completely in our lives – PERIOD!!!

We know that God is a loving God. Everything about his nature would suggest the same. So if he has taken residence in your life, there should be an absolute reflection of his love being displayed in your life and in all aspects. It is impossible for us as Christians to claim to be in God and vice versa if we can’t or don’t display the love of God in and through our lives.

Today we want to be very upfront and practical. If you are a child of God and say that he is in your life then there should be no reason that others can’t see the love of God from you – especially in the body (church) of believers. If you happen to not be able to show and/or receive love that may suggest that you don’t have the one true God in you. We want to be certain today that if you’ve falling off track or let the Spirit of God go dormant again in your life, you rekindle the flame and get back into living out the Spirit’s nature that was initially designed to be in you.

Our display of love is a direct indicator that we’re not only different but God is in us and we are in Him. We pray today that the manifestation of Jesus Christ is due to the complete love of God working in your life. We will all manifest one thing or another in our lives; let’s make sure that what comes from our lives drives people to Jesus and not away. Prayerfully He is at work and is being active to draw the lost near through you! Let his love work through you; it may be the only Jesus that someone will ever see. All that remains is the question/slogan we should ask ourselves: Is God in YOU? In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
