1 Corinthians 15:57

DaySpring Daily Word of Inspiration:  1 Corinthians 15:57 – But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Happy Monday! We shall start this week with a short but power truth from the word and may it invoke a desire for restoration in your life today.

Today’s scripture is clear in its statement of fact. We are prone to reflect a response of thankfulness in gratitude to God because of the set-up of the ages. We are assured victory in this life and most importantly in death when we put our faith, hope and trust in Jesus Christ. How does the victory look? God gives us victory over self-condemnation, he gives us victory over selfish ambition, he gives us victory over religious traditions, he gives us victory over our slavery to customary sin, and he gives us victory over the fear of death. In all of these things, we alone (without God) were destined to be stuck in a rut by these very situations and circumstances because our own consciences proved us to be guilty. Fortunately, as the beauty of scripture has put it for us today, we can give thanks to God for his fix (his victory) through Jesus Christ! When Jesus came, he broke the ties of uncertainty and secured us with His promises that as we cling to him, we would, could, and will overcome the tricks of the enemy – even the fear of eternal death; an existence without Him at all! There is a lot to be joyous about when we submit and put our trust in Jesus Christ and what he did for us on the cross.

Today if you are a genuine follower of Christ and believe in the work he accomplished on the cross for your sins and mine, we have a lot to be thankful for! We are absolutely, beyond a shadow of a doubt given the promise of God that through commitment, obedience and sacrifice of self to the will of God and our Lord Jesus Christ, we will be with God again. Our sins will be wiped away and we will live in heaven for eternity. Could there be anything else in existence that we should be more grateful for? If you’re living with the true victory that is available in Jesus Christ, let your thanks be seen today. Let others inquiry about your joy and experience the victory through Christ in you. Your thanks may be the breakthrough that leads someone to their victory. Be thankful today. In Jesus’ name, AMEN!!
