1 Chronicles 16:8

DaySpring Daily Word of Inspiration:  1 Chronicles 16:8 – Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done.

We are a sharing race of people. No matter what is going on in our lives, whether good or bad, we love to share what’s going on with us. Even most introverted people like to talk about the things they like or have occurred in their lives. We share things with others because we want to connect, invite, or spark a relationship with them. Think of the new car you got, are you not a little eager to tell someone? Or suppose you got a new job, that job you’ve been wanting, won’t you let someone know you finally got it. What about when you’re down on your luck; when everything is in the dumps? You may not be as forthcoming but you will share about that experience or what you’re going through with someone. For whatever the reason, sharing comes from the place of wanting others to know some type of news; good or bad. We use this to communicate what we’ve been through, what we’re going through, or how to help someone avoid and get through their situations. All of that to say, sharing is good to do especially when you have something good to share.

You ever notice how excited you get when you have good news to share? You’re a little antsy, you’re kind of busting at the seams to let it out, or you may have it written all over your face that something wonderful has affected you. Then the moment comes, you start to spew out the bubbling contents that’s been wrapped up inside of you. You’re joyous, grateful, and maybe even shedding a tear or two. Why? Simply because something good has happened in your life and you want everyone to know. Hmmmm… So if we can get excited about a new car, job, boy/girlfriend, house, or whatever, what should our excitement look like for what God has done (and continually does) for us?

Well the first thing we have to look at is do we recognize anything that God has done for us? Has God brought any “good news” into your life? Has he made any situations turn out good in your life? Has he saved your from anything? Has he saved you from yourself? Has he brought you through some things? Has he given you food to eat? A place to stay? Clothes for your body? Maybe some good health? Or maybe good health for your children? Fixed your marriage? Restored your relationships? Helped you live more blamelessly through his instruction? How about the chance at salvation when we don’t deserve it? C’mon, there’s got to be something, right? Anything? Well I’m not sure about you but maybe, just maybe, you have something that you can get excited about? Something you want to share with others about what God has done for you and in your life! That same sharing looks just like it would as we examined earlier; you’re antsy to proclaim God’s praise to somebody, anybody! You start to move a little more confidently towards people and you can’t help but to give a tiny “thank you, Jesus” under your breath. Matter of fact, you’re glowing (not like anything supernatural), you have this radiance about you; you appear refreshed and alive! Then the moment comes to a crescendo, you’re sharing your faith with someone. While giving God praise, you take someone on the journey of where God has brought you from, what he’s done in your life, and how he’s saved your soul. But you don’t stop there, you tell someone else and then another and so on and so on. Congratulations, you’re a living scripture!

Today we have reason to praise God and proclaim his name to the ends of the earth. He has done wonderful things for each of us. Have your recognized? Are you excited He’s done it for you? Moreover, are you sharing the good news about your life with Christ? Have the nations (your family, friends, peers, co-workers, & strangers alike) heard your ecstatic praise for God and who he is to you? We pray you begin seizing the opportunities to proclaim God, give him praise in your life and share your (His) good news with other people. He’s impacted all of our lives; recognizing the reality of that fact helps us to live out this scripture today with a passion and a true appreciation for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Have any good news to share today? Think about it. In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
