New Year, God’s Plan

New Year, God’s Plan

As we embark on 2014, many of us have already started or finished our 2014 goals. For some, our goals have some of the same things we had on our 2013 goals list; lose weight, pray more, get a better job, save money, etc. Unfortunately, in 2013 we were not  able to achieve the long list of to-do’s, for various reasons. Could be we just didn’t have enough time. It feels like it was January 2013, now it’s January 2014. Just like that the year is over.

Since time is not our friend and will not wait on us,  I would like for us to do something new in 2014 when it comes to goal planning. How about us solely focusing on ONE goal?! Ok, maybe not just one, but one main goal…GROWING SPIRITUALLY.  Let’s make 2014 the year we seek God with all our heart, mind and soul. Women of God, let’s be different than the world. Let’s not fill our goals list with self-ambition, self-promotion, selfish desires; instead, let’s make 2014 all about the Savior.

Let’s decide right now, that our priority WILL be growing closer to our Savior. Let’s decide that we WILL seek His Kingdom and His righteousness. Let’s be intentional about our spiritual growth. Let’s no longer seek after  worldly STUFF, rather let’s focus on becoming the women God will have us to be.

I’m challenging all of us to do something different in 2014, and that is to write a spiritual growth goals list. List exactly the steps you will take to grow spiritually. Be specific. Be realistic.

Let’s declare that we will not leave our spiritual life up to chance, rather we WILL seek God knowing that He will add all other things to us.

Cheers to a New Year, and to discovering God’s plan for our lives!
